Two Rosehill Rail Baseplate Crossing Systems have been installed at the Taff Well Metro Depot, providing an easily accessible crossing point for vehicles and staff who will be working on the site when it commences operations.
Upon completion, the depot will house 36 Metro tram-trains and accommodate over 400 staff members. This development is an integral part of the South Wales Metro project, which aims to enhance connectivity and promote sustainable travel throughout South Wales.
The Baseplate System is a sustainably manufactured rubber level crossing solution that can be customised to fit around fishplates, tight curves and turnouts. It is a cost-effective system that is ideal for narrow, standard, or wide gauge and any rail or sleeper type, with a design which allows for fast installation and removal when performing track maintenance.
